How to split an electricity or water bill among roommates
Split a room's Meralco or water bill equally among its tenants with By Room (Split). BoardHub divides the total and creates a bill for each tenant.

When a room shares one electric or water meter, let BoardHub do the dividing. You enter the room's total and it makes an equal bill for each tenant.
Step by step
- Open Bills and tap Create Bill.
- Under Billing Type, tap By Room (Split).
- Choose the Room. The list shows how many occupants each room has.
- Set Bill Type to Electricity or Water.
- Enter the Total Room Amount (₱). BoardHub shows the Per tenant share below it.
- Set the Due Date, add a Billing Period such as "October 2026", and any Notes.
- Tap Split & Create Bills.

What happens next
Each active tenant in the room gets their own bill for their share. The bill notes show how it was split, for example "Room Split: ₱1000÷4", so tenants can see the math in their portal. Each tenant pays their own bill separately.
Tips
- Shares are rounded to the centavo. ₱1,000 split three ways is ₱333.33 each.
- Did one tenant use more? Create the split first, then tap the pencil icon on that tenant's bill to adjust their amount.
- Got one payment covering the whole room? On Payments, tap Record Payment, then Advanced: split one payment across a whole room. Each tenant's share goes onto their open split bill.
Tip: Log the full utility bill you paid to the electric or water company as an expense too, so your reports show the true cost.

Yes. Choose Multi-Tenant, tick the tenants, and enter the Amount per Bill. Each one gets that full amount.
