How to create a bill for a tenant
Create a rent, electricity, water or other bill for one tenant, several tenants at once, or a whole room split equally. Set the amount, due date and period.
Last updated
Use Create Bill for anything outside the monthly rent run: a utility bill, a one-time fee, or a bill for a tenant who moved in mid-month.
Step by step
- Open Bills and tap Create Bill.
- Under Billing Type, choose Single Tenant, By Room (Split) or Multi-Tenant.
- Pick who it's for: search and tap a tenant, choose a room, or tick several tenants.
- Choose the Bill Type: Rent, Electricity, Water or Other.
- Enter the amount. For Single and Multi-Tenant it's the Amount per Bill (₱). For a room split it's the Total Room Amount (₱).
- Set the Due Date. Add a Billing Period like "April 2026" and any Notes.
- Tap Create Bill (or Split & Create Bills for a room).

What happens next
The bill appears in your list as Unpaid, and the tenant sees it in their Tenant Portal. If the tenant has advance credit on their account, BoardHub uses it on the new bill straight away.
Tips
- Making rent for everyone? Don't create bills one by one. Use Generate bills, then This month's bills.
- Multi-Tenant gives each chosen tenant the same full amount, for example a ₱200 WiFi fee each.
- You can also create a bill from a tenant's profile with Create Bill under Quick Actions.
- Filter the Bills list by status (Unpaid, Partially Paid, Paid, Due, Overdue) or search by tenant name or room.
Tip: To clean up mistakes, tick several bills and use the delete button that appears above the list.
Frequently asked questions
BoardHub asked me to Create it anyway. What does that mean?
A similar bill already exists, usually the same tenant, type and month. Tap Create anyway only if you really mean to add a second charge, like an advance or an extra fee.
Can I change a bill after creating it?
Yes. Tap the pencil icon on the bill, change the details, and tap Save Changes. The balance updates from what's already been paid.
