Fixing a leak costs money, and that money should show up when you look at your profit. Marking a repair Resolved doesn't record a cost, so add it as an expense.
Step by step
- Open Expenses. On a computer it's under Tools. On your phone, tap More, then Expenses.
- Tap Add Expense.
- Give it a Title, like "Plumber: Room 3 faucet".
- Enter the Amount (₱) and the Date you paid.
- Set Category to maintenance (or renovation for bigger work).
- Pick the Property so the cost is counted against the right boarding house.
- Add details in Notes if you like, then tap Add Expense.
Tools›Expenses›Add Expense
What happens next
The cost is subtracted from that month's revenue on the Expenses page, and it's included in your Monthly Income and Yearly Income reports, per property.
Tips
- Record costs on the day you pay. It's much harder to remember at the end of the month.
- Use the same title style every time (for example "Plumber: Room 3") so you can spot rooms that keep needing repairs.
Frequently asked questions
Does marking a repair Resolved record its cost?
No. Repair requests and expenses are separate. Add the cost on the Expenses page so it counts in your reports.
